He's Here!

Only 3 weeks late but Ethan George arrived on 3/24 at 7:12pm at 9lbs 6oz and 22" long. I was scheduled for a c-section the next day (because of his size estimate) but much to my surprise, my water broke Monday morning!  So we dropped A at school and headed to the hospital. To wait. And wait and wait. I wasn't having contractions and the baby was tolerating things fine so we kept getting bumped!  The worst part was having no food for the entire day.

I wasn't scared until they wheeled me in the OR. I got the spinal and my legs were numb within seconds it felt like. Overall it wasn't bad, just some shivering from the anesthesia. The OB took his time stitching me up too which is partly why I healed so well I think. Chris went with Ethan to the nursery and to see my mom then we met up again in recovery. I was still a little out of it and the ice chips the nurse gave me tasted like the best things ever!

Once I got feeling back in my legs they let me go back to my regular room where just continued nursing and napping and getting checked by nurses for the next few hours.

24w Updates

Yay for viability day! I wasn't really ever too concerned with this milestone until the bleeding episodes I've had this pregnancy. Everything was fine and non interesting until the beginning of Nov. We were away in Hershey to see Disney Jr Live and I woke up pouring blood. Like a ton. It was gross and scary. I called the OB while heading to the ER. They luckily weren't very busy so they were able to get me in and seen relatively quickly. Standing in the ER I felt a huge huge gush and I honestly thought my water had broken and I was going to lose the baby. I was only 19w so I knew they wouldn't have been able to do anything for me if my water really had broken. So I was freaking out but trying to stay calm on the outside for Chris and Audrey.

They got me in and situated then took some blood and did an u/s which showed baby boy bouncing away. Cervix was fine, placenta was fine and miraculously baby was fine. Turns out it was a SCH that had burst. They told me to take it easy and go see my OB. The OB sent me to the MFM for an anatomy scan that week. I thought I was going to get to skip him this time but apparently not!  He showed me where it was and said it was pretty big. Usually they resolve and go away on their own although mine doesn't seem to be doing that. It *shouldn't* cause me any problems but I'll be grilling him about that next appt since it isn't resolving.

Which I know because I started bleeding red again Thanksgiving Eve leading to a L&D visit Thanksgiving morning. Fun times. Luckily everything was fine again and I did get to watch the parade while drinking coffee :) I just prefer to do it at home next year!

We just got back from 4 days in Disney and luckily everything was ok there too, which I was worried about. So I'm continuing to try and not pick Audrey up too much and it seems likely I'll be on restricted activity and pelvic rest for the forseeable future. Hopefully not, but I'll find out more Christmas Eve.

We also found out at the a/s that baby boy's kidneys were mildly dilated so we're hoping that goes away by the next u/s also. Fingers crossed.

We have the room painted and rug bought, but that's it so far. Christmas and Disney have thrown off my schedule but we'll get there. I'm hoping to register next week or this weekend since I'm having a sprinkle sometime in January. Yay for cake and presents!!  Really I do just think its nice to celebrate each baby with cake at least!

It's a Boy!

We opted to do an elective ultrasound (by opted I mean I begged until Chris agreed). As soon as the tech put the wand on my stomach, I could see. Boy. Alllll boy. To say we were shocked is an understatement. I don't know if it's like that for everyone, but having had one girl we both just figured this would be a girl also.

Took a few days to process but now we've closed in on a name, I think, bought a going home outfit and told everyone :) I was always excited but seriously in shock. I would't have thought that would be my reaction though. It will be great for Audrey I think to have a little brother, I can't wait for them to play together <3

My real anatomy scan is at the MFM on Nov 19th. I'm anxiously anticipating it, I just want them to say everything is healthy.  For now, I just enjoy the few kicks/movements I feel!

Potty training

So Audrey decided to potty train herself! Exciting and a bit daunting, I wasn't quite ready for this yet. So far she's doing great at home, hasn't tried it yet at school on in public. I'm excited she's doing it so well though, hopefully she will be fully trained by Christmas!

First Tri Done

I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow and feeling pretty great! First tri was not a good time with a toddler but we survived. Again, no throwing up but lots of nausea and heartburn. Pretty the only time I felt ok was laying down, which Audrey was not a fan of. And with Chris at work I just had to suck it up.  I took a yoga hiatus for a while but started getting back into it the last week, it's been fun starting new challenge poses while pregnant.  I really hope it helps keep me in shape this pregnancy.

We told Audrey there's a baby in my belly but she wants to see it to believe it lol! Hopefully she gets it in the next few months. Really dying to know gender right now, I tried talking Chris into an elective u/s but he wasn't biting. Boo! 5 more weeks and we can know!

2!

Audrey is officially 2 and Minnie Mouse party is complete. She had a great time with family and her friends, they ran around outside the entire time. Presents she wasn't really into lol.  Her big present from us was a "big girl" bed which we actually just put together, but she loves it! Now she has room for allll her dollies and toys, it's a crowded bed!

2 year stats: 35.5" 26.5 lbs
Favorite toys: play kitchen, baby dolls, puzzles, coloring, shopping cart
Favorite things to do: be outside! Anything outside, beach, pool, play in the yard, bike rides
Favorite foods: ogurt (yogurt) p jelly (pb&j) pizza, anything with dippy (ketchup or syrup), cheese, corn in the cob
She is huge on people's names and giving directions. Sit down mommy! I want to go dis way! (pointing while we drive), she loves saying hi and bye to everyone we see and she will just get louder if you don't answer her.
Favorite phrase: (my favorite) bye bye see ya! (Chris' favorite) ooooooh wowwww! When she's excited
Also, any money is "Daddy's money!"
She sleeps 7pm to 630ish am, takes 1.5 hr nap for us, 2+ hrs for my mom
She knows almost all her colors and can identify them, she can match all shapes and will identify some, she loves singing part of the Abcs, she counts 2, 7, 9, but does know what two of something means.  She is full of energy and makes us laugh every day.

B.E. 2.0

Well, we had a successful FET and 4 good beta's so looks like we're on this roller coaster again!  I started BCP's in the beginning of June, then overlapped with lupron, got a "lupron bleed" then started estrogen and progesterone 6/24/13.  The actual transfer was 7/12/13 and I promptly started POAS :)

Beta 1 was 9dp5dt 170 p4 10.8 (crinone)
Beta 2 was 12dp5dt 880 p4 4.2 (crinone)
Beta 3 was 16dpt5dt 3715 p4 21.7 (PIO)
Beta 4 was 17dpt5dt 8897 p4 24 (PIO)

In the meantime, I had started on crinone but when I went to refill it, it was going to cost $1, 000 a month! Insane and frankly, unaffordable. I talked to the doctor and he agreed to switch me to PIO. Who knew I would prefer ass shots?? They're actually  not bad at all, plus you get the actual progesterone level in your blood which makes me feel so much better!

My official due date is 3/30/13 which is...interesting, but not like we didn't know that going into it. It's funny because first time, I was so much more consumed with the actual pregnancy part of it. Now, I'm obsessed with the newborn part. I want to buy all the stuff I need, and tiny diapers and tiny clothes. Now that I know what to look forward to, I'm so so excited.  First u/s is next Tues, I'll be 6w1d so hopefully we'll see a heartbeat.
